Pupil Leadership
School Council
Lead staff members: Mrs Fairweather and Mrs Parris
The School Council is a formal group of pupils within a school who are elected by their peers to represent them and their views. Termly meetings enable pupils to voice their views and opinions on a range of agreed discussion areas. School Council representatives gather the views of their peers and feedback to their class after meetings.
Eco Council
Lead staff members: Mrs Ingleby, Miss Fernee and Miss Palmer
The Eco Council is formed of children from across the school who are elected by their peers. The group meet regulary to discuss how we can improve our environment and protect our planet. The Eco Council have organised a number of events within the school and the local community and have built links with outside organisations. We are delighted to be an official Eco School with Distinction.
Junior Road Safety Officers
Lead staff members: Mrs Mills
Our Junior Road Safety Officers spread road safety messages to the school community by giving talks in assemblies, running competitions and working with the local community and outside organisations. The children are from upper KS2 and go through an application process to earn the position.
House Captains
Lead staff member: Miss Toll
Our House Captains are Year Six children who have been elected by their peers. Their role is to represent and support the children in their house groups across the school. They also help to run our inter-house competitions throughout the year.
Heath Ambassadors
Lead staff member: Miss Garnham
Our Heath Ambassadors are Year Six children, who are selected following an application process. As part of their role, they welcome visitors to the school and act as guides during our working together mornings. They help to gather the views of our parents through surveys and lead demonstrations to our parents during whole school events, such as our curriculum coffee mornings and working together mornings.
Friendship Ambassadors
Lead staff members: Mrs Lucking, Mrs Gaunt and Mrs Parker
Our Friendship Ambassadors are chosen from Years 4, 5 and 6 following an application process. They work with our pastoral team. One of their main roles is to encourage friendships between the younger children at lunchtimes.
Digital Ambassadors
Lead staff member: Mr Ingleby
Our Digital Ambassadors are chosen from Years 4, 5 and 6 following an application process. They meet regularly with our online safety lead to discuss the use of tech in school, with a particular focus on keeping safe. They help to spread the online safety message to the children and their parents by raising awareness through creating posters and giving presentations.
Garden Ambassadors
Lead staff members: Mrs Lucking, Mrs Gaunt and Mrs Parker
Our Garden Ambassadors are nominated by members of staff. They work alongside our garden team to look after our school garden. Their responsibilities include growing the produce and selling it from our very own market stall in the playground. The Garden Ambassadors also help to lead groups of children who are helping in the school garden.
