Junior Road Safety Officers

Our Junior Road Safety Officers

Here are our Junior Road Safety Officers for this year. They are busy planning competitions, assemblies and ways to make our roads safer for all.

Our Road Safety Initiatives

Community Led Ride

Security Marking and Bike Maintenance

Hannah Canning, a Community Engagement Officer at Suffolk Police, and Martin from the Big Bike Revival kindly visited the school to help provide security markings and bike maintenance sessions.

Road Safety Week

The Junior Road Safety Officers delivered an assembly to both KS1 and KS2. They ran a competition to design a poster. They wanted to raise awareness about the speed of vehicles. The focus for Road Safety week was 'Let's talk about speed'.

Meeting with MP, Dr Dan Poulter

Our JRSOs had a meeting with MP, Dr Dan Poulter, and local councillor, Debbie McCallum, to discuss road safety outside the school.

There has also been an article published in the Ipswich Star.

The Big Walk and Wheel

Our school took part in the Big Walk and Wheel. We encouraged  children to walk or wheel to school, for ten days in March. This was an inter-school walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling to school competition.

Beep Beep Day

The JRSO's helped to take the Reception children for a walk outside of the school. We practiced crossing the road, both with and without a crossing.
